"On Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, Heaven opened its doors for Estel Adkins. He peacefully left this world to rest in the arms of Jesus with his family by his side."Born Feb. 3, 1938, at Keyrock, he was the son of the late William “Bill” and Susie Beverly Adkins.
"Mr. Adkins was of the Baptist faith and a retired coal miner from Consolidated Coal Corp, Itmann Mine. He loved camping, hunting, water skiing, boating, playing horseshoes and being with his family. For that last 13 years, he enjoyed being with his extended family at the Red Rock Campground in Forest Hill. He also loved his faithful friends, Princess and Cody.
"Welcoming him in Heaven in addition to his parents, was a son, Ronnie Adkins, a grandson, James Sizemore Jr., a granddaughter, Jessica Adkins, three brothers, Ott, Jess and Cleve Adkins, and a sister, Corby Morgan.
