"Ricky Shane Hagerman, 63, of Jolo, WV, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025, in Rock, WV surrounded by family.
"Born on October 2, 1961, in Welch, WV, Rick was the son of the late Zola and William “Son” Hagerman. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Rayetta Hagerman, six brothers and a sister; Bill, Rob, Sherman, Dale, Donald Ray, and Sue whose memories he carried with him always.
"Rick was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his loving children: Travis (Bridgette) Kennedy of Paynesville, WV; Ricky Hagerman Jr. of Shawnee, OK; Greg (Courtney) Kennedy of Jolo, WV; Jeremiah (Brianna) Hagerman of Paintlick, VA; Joey Hagerman of Jolo, WV; and Maegan (Marcus) Bailey of Rock, WV. He is also survived by his sister, Naomi Hagerman, and a host of cherished grandchildren who brought him great pride and joy.
"A master of his craft, Rick was a highly respected and well-known mason, dedicating over 40 years of his life to the trade. His work stands as a lasting legacy throughout his hometown and surrounding areas.
"When he wasn’t working, Rick could often be found spending time with his beloved horse, Sandman—one of his greatest joys.
"Services will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Family Worship Center in Jolo, WV. Pastor Charles Rose will officiate. Visitation will be from 11am-1pm and service 1pm-2pm. Burial will follow at Goodman Cemetery in Buckeye Hollow, Jolo, WV. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the family.

"Born May 22, 1965 in Welch, WV, she was the daughter of the late Hobert and Gaynell Wimmer Hicks.
"Rayetta was a member of Family Worship Center in Jolo, WV, loved to cook and spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
"In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Estel and Gary Hicks.
"Survivors include her loving husband of eighteen years Ricky Hagerman of Jolo, WV; daughter "Maegan Bailey and husband Marcus of Bluewell, WV; sons Travis Kennedy and wife Bridgette of Paynesville, WV, Greg Kennedy and wife Courtney of Jolo, WV, Jeremiah Hagerman and wife Brianna of Wardell, VA, Joey Hagerman and wife Brittany of Jolo, WV, “Lil” Rick Hagerman of Jolo, WV, foster son Torey Tooth of Berwind, WV; sisters Helen Mullins of Avondale, WV, Bonnie Cole and husband Gary of Richlands, VA; brother Larry Hicks and wife Ruby of Paynesville, WV. She is also survived by her grandchildren Chassity Kennedy, Brayden Kennedy, Weston Kennedy, Hunter Bailey, Jaxon Bailey, Ryder Hagerman, Gunner Hagerman, Miyah Hagerman, Breea Hagerman, Lakrisha Hagerman, one on the way, several nieces, nephews, friends and two special friends Brandie Hagerman Baker and Glenda Lester Napier .
"Funeral service for Rayetta Hicks Hagerman will be held at the Family Worship Center in Jolo, WV, Friday, September 27, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Charlie Rose, Reverend Tommy Jenks officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery on Pea Patch Road, Grundy, VA. Active pallbearers will be Glen Mullins, Tyler Rose, Jacob Bowles, Cameron Cole, Bride Hess and Ryan Wheeler. Honorary pallbearer will be Gordon Mullins. The family will receive friends at the Family Worship Center, Thursday, September 26th after 6:00 p.m. with an evening service to be held at 7:00 p.m. The family of Rayetta Hicks Hagerman have entrusted the care of their loved one to Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home of Grundy, VA.

"Huttonsville- Mrs. Goldie Bishop Currenece, 49, died at 1:40 p.m. Tuesday in an Elkins Hospital. Born April 29, 1913, she was a daughter of the Late George Washington and Sarah Lester Bishop. Survivors include her husband, Ruben D. Currence; five sons, Ruben Jr. and Jerry H. bothat home. Eddie Davidson Currence of Huttonsville, Beuford Patsel of Nace, Va. , and John R. Currence of Pontiac, Mich.; three daughters, Mrs. Veltha Harvard of Nace, VA., and Mrs. Retha Jane Channell of Valley Head and Miss. Addie Currence, at home; five brothers, Fred of Ronceverte, Howard and George of Jr.both of Red Sulphur Springs,and Jimmy and Melvin of Bishop both of Peterstown; four sisters, Mrs .
