"COAL MOUNTAIN - Alvin Burl Hatfield, 86, of P.O. Box 62, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, in a Logan hospital. Born Jan. 21, 1913, in Guyan, he was the son of the late Floyd and Rinnie Toler Hatfield. Mr. Hatfield was a retired coal miner. He was a member of Missionary Baptist Church of Coal Mountain. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Mable Brown Hatfield; three sons, Billy James Hatfield, Charles Edward Hatfield and an infant son; two daughters, Vonda Rose Hatfield and an infant daughter; five brothers, Troy, Virgil, Lonnie, Elmer and Lessie Hatfield; and a sister, Goldie Hatfield. Survivors include his fiance of 15 years, Ms. Kermit Hatfield of Coal Mountain; two sons, Donnie Ray Hatfield and his wife, Lana, and Gregory Paul Hatfield and his wife, Helen, all of Coal Mountain; six daughters, Wanda Stacy and her husband, Kenneth, of Black Lick, Ohio, Doris Hatfield and her husband, Rodney, of Coal Mountain, Syble Drummond and her husband, James, of Columbus, Ohio, Mary Lou Cunningham and her husband, Mel, of St. Louisville, Ohio, Linda Rodehaver of Black Lick, Ohio, and Barbara Breeden of Clear Fork; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; a brother, Luther Hatfield of Coal Mountain; six sisters, Brookie Cline, Georgie Hatfield and Arlene Wallace, all of Coal Mountain, Mervin Fraley of Morehead, Ky, Zettie Brown of Cyclone and Cora Morgan of Baisden.
