"THE DAILY BULLETIN, Mon., Dec. 28, 1936, p. 1, col. 7 and p. 4, col. 4 [edited].
Final rites for J. Russell Winn, 37, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ben Winn, this city, who passed away at Richardsons' hospital at Mountain Valley Saturday around noon, following several weeks of illness, were held from the Winn home on Broad Street yesterday. Burial followed in the family burial plot in Oakwood Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife and five children; four brothers, H. S. Winn of Roanoke, B. F., J. M. and L. B. Winn, all of Martinsville, and three sisters, Mesdames H. L Turner, R. L. Claybrook and J. C. Meadors. Active pall bearers were H. L Turner, J. C. Meadors, E.G. Morrison, J. E. Minter and Sterling Winn."
