"LYNCO — David M. Toler, 72, went home to be with the Lord at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at Welch Community Hospital. "Born March 2, 1935, in Logan County, he was the son of the late Garland and Martha Betty Huffman Toler. "He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Arland Toler; a sister, Pauline; and a granddaughter, Tanisha. "Mr. Toler was a retired coal miner and a member of Pentecostal House of Prayer at Lynco. "David will also be remembered for his volunteer work in the Buffalo Creek Disaster, along with his aid in the rescue and search of the lost and surviving of the disaster. He took home 21 people. In the 1970s he raised money and volunteered his services to the Little Huff Creek Rescue Squad where he raised money to keep it open to the poor as well as for those who couldn’t pay. He was also the owner and operator of Toler Cable and ATT Cable, where he brought cable to the areas in Wyoming County. "David was always there when needed. To those who will remember David, they will remember him for his love of music. David played over six different instruments as the “Bluegrass Player.” He also helped restore the Wyoming County Horse Show grounds after the flood in 2001. David was loved dearly by his family as well as friends, and always will be.
