"Born on Nov. 22, 1946 in Bluefield, he was a son of Freda Idell Alley Rose of Big Branch, Va. and the late Bandy Rose. He had lived in Pipestem for the past three years and was a truck driver. He was a former State Trooper and coal miner. He was a veteran Viet Nam having served in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his mother, survivors include wife: Judy Dickterenko Rose of the home; son: Ronald Rose Jr. of Pipestem; daughters: Lorna Rose of California and Greda Rose of California; brothers: James Rose and wife Jerry of Bluefield, Va., Stanley Rose and wife Geraldine of Big Branch, and Gerald Rose and wife Barbara of Kingsport, Tenn; sister: Susan Carter and husband John of Big Branch.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 19, 2006 at 1 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with the Rev. Gerald Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where the Mercer County Veterans Council will perform military graveside honors.."
