She was the late daughter of Lawrence and Augusta Farley Atwell.
"In addition to her parents, she was also proceeded in death by her devoted husband of 43 years, James Woodrow Brooks - her beloved daughter Robin Lynn Cline - and four brothers: Odel, Verlin, Raymond, and Justin Atwell.
"After graduating Pineville High School, she enlisted and served in the United States Air Force, which she worked as a secretary. She enjoyed gardening, taking care of her children and grandchildren as her life mission. She was a faithful member of the Pineville Church of God as a devoted Christian for more than 56 years and loved the Lord.
"Leola is survived by her two sisters Goldie Allen of Brenton, WV and Sylvia Stafford of Baileysville, WV, her daughter of the home Kris Ann Brooks, Kim Bailey, the granddaughter that she raised and called her daughter Jennifer Lonker (Jason) of Hampstead, NC; grandchildren - Jacqueline Canada (Jason), Kara Clemins (Steven) and Bobby Smith all of Pineville, WV - Great grandchildren: Robbie, Robin, Kaileigh, Kyle, Colton, Caiden, and Ryker Lonker. Madison Clark, Mackenzie McGraw, Jazzlynn & Sadie Smyth. Khloe Steele and Harper Clemins.
