Born January 6, 1931 at Lex, WV, he was the son of Sarah Blankenship Elliott of Jolo, WV and the late James Elliott."He was also a residence of Shawsville, Va. and of the Protestant Faith. Mr. Elliott was a retired miner as a tipple operator from Virginia Crews Coal Company, veteran of the Korean Conflict, member of United Mine Workers of America and a member of the Sandy River District American Legion Post #175 of Bradshaw.
"He was preceded in death by his father, James Elliott and his first wife, Bertha Payne Elliott.

She joins in death her sisters Mary Payne and Evy Kennedy and her brothers AJ Payne, Bill Payne, and Irvin "Junior" Payne."She is the mother of Diana Anderson of Spotsylvania, VA and Gary McMichael of Athens, WV. In addition to her children, she is survived by her husband Lonnie "Bud" Elliott, her mother-in-law Sarah B. Elliott, and six grandchildren; as well as her sisters Tenny Roberts, Barbara Valdez, Laura Eades, Clemmy Hughes, Nell Byrd, and Oley Headrick, and her brother John K.
