"OCEANA — Ruth Marie King Harless, 72, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at her residence following a sudden illness. "Born Dec. 27, 1934, at Iaeger, she was the daughter of the late Jesse King and Frances Roberts King. "Mrs. Harless was a member of the Oceana Methodist Church; she was also a former employee of the Oceana Medical Center. She loved to paint and crochet, and was crazy about her dog, Zoe. "Mrs. Harless loved her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. "In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, George King, Joe Glen King and Marvin King; one sister, Lila Murphy; and three infant siblings. "Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Billy Harless of Oceana; two sons, Larry Harless and his wife, Norma, of Hixson, Tenn., and William Harless and his wife, Carol, of Dana, Ky.; one brother, Jesse King of Hanover; two sisters, Sue Blankenship of Statesville, N.C., and Linda Vass of Birmington, Ala.; three grandchildren, Lori Harless Stenger and her husband, Ben, of Chattanooga, Tenn., Rusty McCoy and his wife, Heather, of Virginia, and Eric Harless of Kentucky; two great-grandsons, Jackson and Noah McCoy of Virginia; two very special friends, Betty Roach of Oceana and Loretta Tilley of Oceana; and a host of friends. "A celebration of Ruth’s life will be noon Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at the Adam Toler Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Gerald Kincaid officiating.
