"Virgene Virgina “Virgie” Walker, 84 of Hanover, WV went home to be with her Lord and Savior and the love of her life on December 8, 2024 at her home. She was surrounded by her family after a long illness."Virgie was born April 29, 1940 in Bud, WV a daughter of the late Charles and Dora Belle Whitt. Virgie was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother; she loved her family with all her heart. To know her was to love her. Virgie was of the Baptist faith and loved watching and listening to preaching; she also loved her gospel music. Virgie has left behind a beautiful legacy of being a very strong and independent woman. She was clothed with strength and dignity and laughs without fear of the future.
"Virgie was proceeded in death by her husband of 57 years, Roy E. Walker; three brothers John Lester, Warren Lester and Eugene Whitt; and one sister Ruth Burks.

"Funeral services will be at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home, Iaeger, WV at 2 o’clock on December 12, 2024 with Rev. Gary Walker, Rev. Allen Sprouse, and Rev Dennis Lester officiating. Burial will follow in the Lester Cemetery, Steeles, WV. Pallbearers will consist of her grandsons and a few special friends.
