Holman Sunday School Class for several years. She was a member of the Ladies Missionary Society and attended regularly, a weekly Bible study at the Church. Lorraine was a member of the Angel?s Rest Rebekah Lodge, a professional seamstress and her many talents included art and writing poetry. "Margaret “Margie” Susan Walls Terry, 87, of Matheny, WV passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, WV following a long illness. She was born on November 10, 1938 to Dottie and Stella West Walls, in Simon, WV. Struck by polio at a young age, she never let it hold her back from doing what she wanted. Margaret learned how to play guitar at the age of 10 and performed throughout the County and WWYO radio station. She accepted Jesus Christ as her savior and was baptized at a young age at the Reedy Creek Methodist Church. She was a 1957 graduate of Baileysville High School, where she excelled in Volleyball. She graduated from Bluefield Business College in 1959. She worked various jobs in the Northern Virginia area, Maryland and Washington, DC. She loved to garden, can, read and grow beautiful flowers. Her door and kitchen were always open to a friend. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Fostina (Infant) Lorriane Wickline, Elizabeth Tilley, Lavonia Toler, and Anna Belcher. She leaves behind her loving husband of 66 years, Billy Terry; a daughter Rebecca (Dana) McDonald and the light of her life, her granddaughter Zoey McDonald of Scott Depot, WV; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. A Celebration of life will be held at 1pm on Friday, June 26th in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. Glen Hatfield officiating. Friends may gather with the family from 12pm until time of service at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Staff of Logan Regional Medical Center and Charleston Atea Medical Center for their wonderful care. Special friend of 73 years, Mary Helen Criner, and her longtime friends, Diane Morgan and her wonderful caregiver, Wanda Carter. In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV."

"MULLENS — Homer Ray Bishop, 91, of Mullens, died Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, following a long illness."Born February 22, 1920, at Bud Mountain, he was the son of the late Ray and Bertha Knuckles Bishop."Mr. Bishop was a 44-year resident of Mullens, a graduate of Herndon High School, a former coal miner retiring from Eastern Associated Coal Company at Herndon, a member of UMWA, a former employee of Mullens Grocery, a member of the New Hope Regular Baptist Church, Bud Mt., and attended The Mullens Wesleyan Church."Homer was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps serving as a technician on B-17 Bombers during World War II; he proudly served his country from 1941 to 1945."In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his first wife, Virgie Ruth Lane Bishop; his second wife, Arlie Irene Bishop; a son, Gregory Scott Bishop; two sisters, Helen Jay Lane and an infant sister; three brothers, William M. Bishop, Donald W. Bishop, and Shirley A. "MULLENS -- Arlie Irene Bishop, 78, of Mullens, died at home on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, after a long illness. Arlie was born in Caloric on April 9, 1926. She was one of 11 children. She was the daughter of Goodall and Nancy Rose Lafferty. Other than her parents, Arlie was preceded in death by three brothers, Nathan Lafferty, Ralph Lafferty and Daryl Lafferty. Mrs. Bishop was a homemaker and attended the Mullens Wesleyan Church.
