"MULLENS — Walter D. McKinney, formerly of Mullens, passed away Monday, Jan. 29, 2007, at Wyoming Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, New Richmond, after a two-year battle with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.
"He was the son of the late Thomas George and Mary Etta Graham McKinney and was born in Herndon.
"Mr. McKinney was former owner/operator of McKinney Union Furniture Co. in Mullens, until it closed in 2004 due to his illness. He was a former manager and salesman for Union Furniture Co. and Mullens Hardware and Appliance Co. for numerous years. He served in the armed forces during World War II, receiving an honorable discharge.
"He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Howerton McKinney; two sons, Walter D. McKinney Jr. and Bruce Thomas McKinney; three brothers, Lokey, Enoch and Earnest McKinney; and three sisters, Pearl Lambert, Sadie Frazier and Ada McKinney.
"Mr. McKinney is survived by four daughters, Carole M. Bandy of Beckley, Brenda L. Athey of MacArthur, Mary Katherine “Kay” Lusk and her husband, Glen, of Jesse and Sandra J. Sisk and her husband, Kenny, of Beckley; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard McKinney of Bluefield, Va., and Jack McKinney of Pensacola, Fla.; as well as a host of friends and family.
"The family would like to thank the staff of Wyoming Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the good quality of care and compassion that was shown to Walter. They would also like to thank Heartland of Beckley, where he resided for several months, and the Veterans Hospital for all their care and support during his illness.
"In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations of sympathy to be sent to Guyandotte Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 55, Jesse, WV 24849.

"Clark Irvin Lockhart, affectionately known as “PG”, 80 of Panther, WV passed away Friday, April 15, 2022 at Mercer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bluefield, WV surrounded by family and friends.
P.G. was born July 19, 1941 in Panther, WV a son of the late James Millard and Lorine Blankenship Lockhart. He was born handicapped but his disability did stop him from hanging out in the woods camping, four wheeling, and enjoying the simple things in life with his brothers, cousins, nieces and nephew throughout his life. P.G. loved the Lord and was of the Old Regular Baptist Faith.
In addition to his parents P.G. was preceded in death by one brother, James Leon Lockhart and one sister, Kathy Lorretta Justice."Survivors include three brothers, Harlen Lockhart of Williamsburg, KY, Larry (Donna) Lockhart of Panther and Merrill (Kathy) Lockhart of Stuart, VA; a sister-in-law, Carol Lockhart of Panther; and his closest family that he loved as his own, nephew Bradley, Mary, Adam, and Adyn Lockhart of Panther which P.G. made his home with prior to Mercer Nursing and Rehabilitation and a host of other nieces and nephews, Teresa, Brandon, Amanda, Sarah, Harlen Jr., James, Christal, Kristy and Becky.
"An evening service will be held Thursday evening, April 21, 2022 from 6 to 9 p.m. with services beginning at 7 p.m. at the Little Zion Old Regular Baptist Church, Greenbrier Mountain Road, Panther, WV. Elders Fred Bailey, Danny Hurley, Danny McCoy, David Lester, Iven Blankenship, Richard Staten and Arthur Short will be officiating services.
"Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022 beginning at 11 a.m. at the Little Zion Old Regular Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Lockhart Cemetery, Short Pole Branch Road, Panther, WV. P.G. will be driven to his final resting place by nephews, Adam and Adyn Lockhart. Pallbearers will be nephews and friends of P.G.
"A very special and heart-felt thank you to Kim Lawson and Sam Mosser both of whom were very dedicated and devoted in taking care of “Clark.” Thanks to all the staff of Mercer Nursing and Rehabilitation and all the residents for being so kind to him and for treating him like family. "Thompson Cline and Myrtle Bailey were mar-
ried by J. H. Viser on the 28th day of June in
1913. Sixteen children were born to this union.
From the oldest to the youngest were Velvia —
born on February 15, 1915, Johnny - born June
19, 1917, Gladys - born March 28, 1919, Ethel -
born July 23, 1920, Paul Thompson born
September 24, 1922, Martha - born December
28, 1924, Oscar - born February 22, 1926,
Elmer born on July 7, 1928, Inez - born June
23, 1930, James — born on August 13, 1932,
Evelyn Geraldine - born on August 25, 1934,
Phyllis > born on June 24, 1936, Roy — born on
November 15, 1937, Ronald - born on July 28,
1939, Betty < born on September 28, 1940, and
George bom on February 21, 1942.
"Mr. and Mrs. Cline are both deceased and
also nine of their children- Velvia, Johnny,
Gladys, Paul, Martha, Oscar, Elmer, Inez, and
Evelyn Geraldine. Of the seven children living,
four currently live in W. V. George Cline and his
family live at Panther in McDowell County. Roy
lives in Pineville, James in Oceana, and Betty
at Hichwood. Ronnie lives in South Carolina,
Ethel in Term., and Phyllis in Georgia.
"Thompson, better known as Tom, was а coal
miner and a very strong Union man. Myrtle was
a home maker and loved to home can the many
vegetables from the garden that she and her
husband grew. Many of the vegetables that they
grew were shared with neighbors and friends.
a'They lived in the Sandy River District at Pan-
ther, W. V. most of their lives where they farmed,
had fruit trees, and raised their family. They also
owned and operated а small grocery store at
Panther. They attended the Baptist Church.
"Tom’s hobby was growing flowers in his gar—
den and yard. ln the fall, he would have bas-
kets and baskets of bulbs that he would dig
from the ground to plant for the following year.
Myrtle’s hobby was cooking and the children
enjoyed stealing what they could from mom's
favorite dishes and sneaking off to hide and
enjoy their treats.
"Tom was the son of Maston and Mollie Trent
Cline. He was born on April 16, 1895 and died
on July 17, 1965. He had four brothers ー Harve,
Reece, Compton, and Johnny. Three sisters —
Della (called Dill), Chloe, and Elsie, He is
buried on Greenbriar Road in Panther in the
family cemetery.
"Myrtle was the daughter of Adam Bailey and
Alsie Lester Bailey. Her birth date was October
14, 7898. She died on September 3, 1.972. She
is also buried on Greenbriar Road in Panther/'n
the family cemetely. She had one brother -
Noah Bailey and three sisters - Lydia, Amanda,

"Leta Grace Cline, 73, of Panther, WV, reunited with her family in Heaven on December 23, 2019. Gracie was born April 30, 1946 in Panther, WV, a daughter of the late Hobart and Maudy Kennedy Lockhart. She was a teacher and evaluator for the McDowell County School System. Gracie was greeted with open arms by her husband, George Cline Sr., her children, George Cline Jr. and Bonita Gayle Cline; and her parents, Hobart and Maudy Kennedy Lockhart Those left here awaiting the reunion are her grandchildren, Tiffany England and husband Jason of Ironton, OH and George Cline III of Huntington, WV; the loves of her life: her great grandchildren, Cutler Jake and Harper Faith England. Gracie was blessed with lifelong best friends: her four sisters, Anna Ruth Short and husband Arthur of Welch, WV, Belinda R. Dancy of Dublin, VA and friend Randall Dority of Havaco, WV, Mary Elizabeth Spence and husband James of Welch, WV, Gloria Mae Carter and husband Roger of Panther, WV, brother-in-law, Roy “Micky” Cline and wife Mildred of Sparta, TN; daughter-in-law, Melanie Cline of South Carolina; and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 1 o’clock at the Little Zion Old Regular Baptist Church at Greenbrier near Panther, WV. Officiating the services will be Elders Iven Blankenship, Phillip Estep, Fred Bailey, Zeb Justice, Jerry Overstreet, Roy Lester, and all others welcome. Burial will follow in the Lockhart Cemetery at Short Pole near Panther, WV, with Pastor Randall Dority officiating the committal services. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may visit with the family Friday, December 27, 2019 after 6 p.m. at the Little Zion Old Regular Baptist Church at Greenbrier near Panther, WV. After the committal services the family invites all to dinner at the Little Zion Old Regular Baptist Church; all are welcome. Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV, is assisting the Cline family. "Bonita Gayle Cline, 51, of Panther, WV, traded her earthly home for a heavenly mansion on April 22, 2017, at the Bowers Hospice in Beckley, WV."Bonita was born February 22, 1966, in Welch, WV, a daughter of Leta Grace Cline and the late George Cline Sr.Bonita graduated from Iaeger High School and obtained a Bachelor's Degree from Marshall University and later successfully completed her Master's program at Marshall as well. She was a Certified Speech Pathologist who had worked for numerous years in multiple McDowell County Schools; she was of the Baptist Faith.
" In addition to her father, George Cline, Sr., Bonita was preceded in death by her brother, George Cline, Jr; maternal grandparents, Hobart and Maudy Lockhart; paternal grandparents, Tom and Myrtle Cline; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
