She was born on December 25, 1943 in Cyclone, WV a daughter of the late Rush and Alma Paynter Cook. Donna was a lifelong member of the Campus Church of God where she also served as President of the Ladies Aide for many years, and a Sunday School Teacher, and as a den mother in the Cub Scotts there. She also sang with the Campus Aires. Donna was an avid supporter of Oceana and Westside High School Basketball, as well as a member the Oceana Alumni. Donna lived in Cyclone her entire life and was well known in the community and some even referred to her as the “Queen of Huff Creek”. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Elmer Lanta Lusk, her father and mother-in-law Kester (Etta) Lusk, four brothers Acie, Jim, Paul, and Johnny Cook, and two brothers-in-law Harless Shumate and Neil Queen. Those left to cherish her memory include three sons Timothy (Pamela) Lusk of Summersville, Todd (Debbie) Lusk of Narrow, VA and Jamie (Matilda) Lusk of Cyclone, four grandchildren Brock Lusk of Narrows, VA, Tori (Wyatt) Robertson of Narrows, VA, Megan Lusk of Roanoke, VA and Bronson Lusk of Cyclone, five great grandchildren Lilly, Tucker, and Maddie Robertson and Connor and Monroe Lusk, three sisters Tiny Shumate of Glen Fork, Jewell Queen of Cyclone and Dorothy (Lowell) Cook of Cyclone, a brother Jack Cook of Summersville, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
