"Willie Edward Mullins, 76, of Itmann went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005, in a Beckley hospital following a short illness. "Born Aug. 13, 1929, at Carswell in McDowell County, he was the son of the late John Waldon and Sarah Belcher Mullins. "Mr. Mullins was a former coal miner, retiring from Consolidation Coal Co. at Itmann with 32 years of service, a member of the United Mine Workers, Local Union 9690. He was also a member of the Herndon Freewill Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean conflict. "In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters. "Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 50 years, Shirley Graham Mullins; four daughters, Sheila Mullins of Coal City, Linda Austin of Matoaka, Carla Lane and her husband, Ricky, of Fairdale and Shelma Justice of Itmann; one son, Willie Mullins Jr. of Princeton; 12 grandchildren, April Parent, Rachael Hall, Sarah Bowers, Sheryl Grey, Kristin Mullins, Amber Cantley, Holly Johnson, Matt Lane, Ashlee Lane, Brandon Justice, Adam Justice and Jeremy Justice; and five great-grandchildren.
