Guild. Helen was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter No. 100 in Mullens. She
was a former “Rosie The Riveter” during World War II, working on aircraft in Tonawanda, N.Y. "In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Fowler Jr.; a son,
John H. Fowler III; five brothers; and a sister.
"Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Jerry Neil Fowler and his wife, Frances, of Durham,
N.C.; two grandchildren, Christa and Neil Fowler of Durham; and two sisters, Emogene Rhoades and
her husband, Robert, of Mullens and Betty Sue Crotty of Mullens. "Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel, Mullens, with the Very Rev.
Adeeb Khalil and Dr. Frank Zedick officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park,
