"First Presbyterian Church was setting for the wedding Saturday evening of Miss Juanita Louise Elledge, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Blaine Elledge of North Wilkesboro, and Robert Clifton Crawford, son of Mr. and Mrs, Fred Crawford of Statesville."Rev. Netil R. McGeaehy, pastor of the church, conducted the ceremony and music was furnished by Miss Gladys Stephens, organist, and Walter Jacobs, soloist. White gladioli, candles and greenery were arranged in the church.
"The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a wedding gown of Chantilly lace and nylon tulie over satin, featuring a sabrina neckline with long, pointed sleeves of lace. The skirt of nylon tulle was appliqued with leaf panes of lace. Her fingertip veil of imported illusion was held in place with a coronet of pearls. She carried a prayer book, topped with a white orchid and gypsophila.
"Mrs. Lillian Smith, the bride's sister, was matron of honor, and bridesmaids were Mrs. Fred Crawford, Jr., and Miss Nancy Van Dyke. Little Dycie Little, cousin of the bridegroom, was flower girl.
"The honor attendant wore a dress of shell pink nylon tricot, with pleated skirt and cerise cummerbund. The bridesmaids' ballerina-length dresses were of shell pink and cerise nylon tulle, with fitted bodice and ruffled skirt, and the flower girl's dress was a miniature copy of the bridesmaids. All the attendants carried nosegays of carnations, shading from light pink to rose.
"Th« bridegroom's father was best man, and ushers were Fred N. Crawford, Jr., brother of the bridegroom; Ernest B. Bass, Jr., Durham, his cousin; Robert Bailey and Jimmy Holland.
"The bride's mother wore a sheath dress of mauve lace over taffeta and a purple orchid. Mrs. Crawford, mother of the bridegroom, wore a sky blue lace over taffeta and corsage of purple orchids.
"After a trip, the couple will live with the bridegroom's parents, 421 Stockton Street, until late summer when they will go to Due West, S. C., where Mr. Crawford will complete his college course. For travel the bride wore a suit of blue cotton and dacron, with wide-collared jacket and straight skirt, while hat and patent accessories,
