Born February 4, 1934 in Glen Morrison, she was the daughter of the late Charles "Gillis" Stewart (1904-1948) and Minnie Edna Walker-Stewart (1911-Deceased). Hazel attended Oceana Freewill Baptist Church, where she loved singing in the choir.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Cline (1932-2005) whom she married in 1956 in Clintwood, VA; and brothers and sisters, Violet Gay Stewart-Shields (1931-2010), Charles Lee "Buddy" Stewart (1935-2003), Neely U. Stewart (1937-1998), Cecil Edward Stewart (1938-1938), Sebert Ray Stewart (1939-2013), Johnny James Stewart (1943-1943), and Patricia "Patsy" Sue Stewart-Prine (1944-2009).
Those left to cherish Hazel’s memory are her three daughters, Tammy Cline-Stafford and husband, Dewight Stafford of Kopperston, Kimberly Cline-Osborne and husband, Doug Osborne of Oceana and Teresa Stewart-Shumate and husband, Mark Shumate of Richmond, ME; grandchildren, Josh Stafford and fiancé, Lauren Burgess and Emily Kate Osborne; a brother, Billy "Jack" Stewart (1941-2016) of Oceana; a sister, Gladys Stewart-Lusk of Beaver and her special friend and caregiver, Peggy Hatfield.
