""Although he had resided in Wyoming County the past 53 years, Uncle Bob delights in recalling the days of his boyhood on Island Creek in Logan County where he grew up within hearing distance of gunfire exchanged during the famous Hatfield-McCoy Feud."As a boy of 13 he remembers being enlisted by the head of the Hatfield clan to carry a message on horseback to a cohort as preparations were being made for what turned out to be the last battle in the feud between the two families.
"Uncle Bob, remembers that his older brother, John Henry, and his uncles, Green and French Ellis, fought along side the Hatfields in the encounter at Grape Vine in Logan County."
"It goes on to say he left Logan Co. in 1900 "with the girl he married March 17, 1897, to locate in Wyoming County... ." Estella Lee Vance was his wife. She was the daughter of Overton and Amanda Belcher Vance. (She is listed on the 1880 census as 4 years old. Regional Medical Center, Logan, WV following a short illness. She was born on June 24, 1934 in Cyclone, WV a daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and Lillie Mae Daniels Brown. Lula is a member of the Lacoma Baptist Church. She is the last surviving member of 18 children and a 1953 graduate of Oceana High School. A celebration of her life will be held at 2PM on Saturday April 7, 2018 at the Gilman Bottom House of Prayer, Davin, WV. In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV."

"After graduating from Man High School in 1950, Dolores worked at numerous jobs throughout her life. Her active
participation during high school in such clubs and organizations as the FHA, the Girl Scouts and the Band Boosters
helped form the excellent work ethic that she carried throughout her life. Dolores worked at Tridelphia Country Club,
Christian, Meeks Grocery and Thomas Grocery, both at Davin, the Yellow Bird Restaurant, Huff and Puff Restaurant
and Man High Lunch, all in Logan County. Dolores worked at the Rehabilitation School at Institute and at Bright of
America in Summersville. Dolores also held the position of head cook at Man High School and retired after serving
several years as the head cook at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Oak Hill.
"Dolores first accepted Jesus Christ as her Personal Savior at Big Springs Baptist Church at Mallory. She shared the
last 20-plus years of her life with the Christian community of Fairview United Methodist Church at East Kingston,
where she was also a member of the Ladies Aid.
"Dolores was an avid doll collector and was active in the Yesterday's Treasure Doll Club of Oak Hill.
"Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, a brother, Bobby Lee Brown Sr., and numerous
relatives in Wyoming County.
"Mrs. Trent is survived by her husband, Joseph Donald Trent, and her daughter, Carolyn Marie Trent, both of Route
1, Scarbro; a brother, James Harrison Brown Jr. and his wife, Pam Matson Brown, of Davin; a sister, Linda Carol
Brown Duba and her husband, Woody Duba, of Route 1, Scarbro; a sister-in-law, Shirley Mavis Blankenship Brown
(wife of the late Bobby Lee Brown Sr.) of Cyclone; a brother-in-law, Jack Trent and his wife, Elizabeth Smith Trent, of
Louisville, Ky.; five nieces and five nephews.
