"ITMANN — Daniel Lynn Little, 49, died Sept. 20, 2005, at his residence. "Born Oct. 9, 1956, at Mullens, he was the son of the late Thomas Levi and Elsie Lea Farley Little. "Mr. Little was a lifelong resident of Wyoming County, was a former coal miner for Itmann Coal Co. and a U.S. Army veteran. "In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Ronnie and Johnny Little. "Survivors include a son, Christopher D. Little of North Carolina; a brother, Gerald Little of Itmann; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. "...Roland Lee changed the spelling to Goebel when he left KY for WV. He told me that his stepfather
used to beat him and when Roland got older he turned the tables on his stepfather and beat him up,
thought he'd killed his stepfather and fled across Tug River into WV where he married my
grandmother, and eventually became a preacher. I don't know when but at some point Roland
answered his front door one day to find the man he'd thought he'd killed standing on his front porch.
Maybe that was what led him to become a preacher. That and the fact that Grandma probably had
some influence on him..."
