Margie loved beautiful flowers, pretty clothes, and collecting family pictures for her photo albums. Most of all, she loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She made a loving impression on each of them, and they all adored their “MomMaw.” Everyone loved to visit at her mountain home where a pot of cabbage rolls and cherry delight awaited them at the end of their journey. Hospitality was Margie’s gift and she showered it on everyone who came to see her. Margie loved to travel and went to Japan in 1986 when her first grandchild was born. She was a talented crafts woman and made many quilts, dolls, and other beautiful crafts. Her employment included working at the University in Morgantown as a nutrition aide, trying to teach the women of Appalachia how to provide nutritional meals for their family. Other special people in Margie’s life were Ann Farmer and Lois Ann Keene, who were considered part of the family. The visitation will be conducted Sunday at 6 o’clock for friends and family at the Freewill Baptist Church in Raysal, WV, and the funeral will be on Monday at 12 o’clock with pastors Herman Day and Darrell Long officiating. Please join the family to share memories and a meal following the service at Margie’s Home. Fanning Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements."
