"ROCKRIDGE - Robert McGinnis Smith, 74, of Rockridge, left to go home to his Father on Sept. 19, 2004 in a Bluefield hospital after a long illness."Born Nov. 7, 1929 at Rockridge, Mr. Smith was a lifetime resident of Rockridge. He was the son of the late Caleb and Melvina Asbury Smith. He was of the Primitive Baptist faith and a member of the Mount Olive Primitive Baptist Church on Rockridge for 37 years where he served as a deacon.
"In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
"He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, ImaJean Sanders Smith; son, Lloyd Smith and wife Gayle of Chardon, Ohio; four daughters, Linda Pauley and husband Doug of Iaeger, Delores Vance and husband Paul of Trinity, N.C., Cynthia Coleman and husband Kenny of Mohawk, Kimberly Hagerman and husband Greg of Jolo; two brothers, Frank Smith of Peterstown, Gene Smith and wife Patsy of Rockridge; his sister, Delilah Lester of Bradshaw; seven grandchildren, David Turner, Michael Smith, Joseph Smith, Justin Vance, Conly Coleman, Adam Hagerman, and Lindsi Pauley; his great grandson, Ethan Vance; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
"Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday from the Mount Olive Primitive Baptist Church, Rockridge with Elder Harold Thornsbury, Elder Edison Vance, Elder Darrell Mullins, and Elder Jack Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Caleb Smith Cemetery, Rockridge. Grandsons, David Turner, Michael Smith, Joseph Smith, Justin Vance, Conly Coleman and Adam Hagerman with nephews, Raymond Smith, Darrell Smith, Olaf Smith, Rodney Smith, and Kenneth Rowe will serve as pallbearers...."

"ROCKRIDGE — In loving memory of our "Mommy" ImaJean Smith, 71, of Rockridge."On Monday, March 19, 2007, God was searching for an angel to call into Heaven. He looked down upon the Earth and saw our mommy, the kindest, most gentle, loving, and beautiful angel in the world. He opened the Heavenly Gates and welcomed her home. Her beauty was not only on the outside, but also on the inside. She was a mother to many. Mommy lost her mother as a young child and never knew the love and touch of a "mommy", but God blessed her with that knowledge. She was our best friend. Mommy is at peace now; she is with Daddy. They were apart for two and a half years; the longest they had been apart in their 55 years of marriage.
"Mommy was of the Primitive Baptist faith and had been a member of the Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church for 40 years. She loved to sew and quilt but most of all she loved being with her family and friends. She worked side by side with Daddy to help raise her children. All that knew her knew what a hard worker she was. She was a friend to many and will be greatly missed by all.
"ImaJean Sanders Smith was born in Caretta, to Elbert and Alice (Elam) Sanders on June 27, 1935. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Beecher Sanders and a stillborn infant brother, and her loving husband of 55 years, Robert M. Smith.
