"Martha Deloris (Lois) Beavers Lois Beavers, 88, formerly of Carlos, WV, passed away on January 6, 2021 in Charlotte, NC. She was born on October 30, 1932 to Auburn and Zennia Casteel. After 21 years of dedicated and enjoyable service, she retired from the United States Postal Service. She found much pleasure in caring for her family, providing food for anyone who visited and making and sharing many beautiful quilts. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at Jolo Methodist Church and was baptized there. She later joined Bradshaw United Methodist Church until her move to Scott Depot, WV in 2005. Although life took her away from Bradshaw, she never forgot the dear friends, fellow believers, and the many, many memories of love and laughter they shared as they served one another and Christ. Soon after settling into life in Scott Depot, she joined the fellowship of St John United Methodist Church where she worshiped until her move to Charlotte, NC in 2019. Lois knew it was necessary to move yet she was so very sad to leave her dear friends and family in Scott Depot and the state that had been her life-long home. After moving to Charlotte, she began attending University Hills Baptist Church with her daughter.Lois married Lawrence D. Beavers on May, 8th, 1948. They had many years together raising children and enjoying life until his going home to be with Jesus in 1997. In their nearly 50 years together they had 6 children who they loved very well. Sadly, their second born, Danny Beavers, went to be with the Lord in 2011. This was indeed the saddest day of Lois’ life. Her other children are: Peggy (Bob) Payne of Welch, WV; Ted (Tonya) Beavers of Wharton, OH; Sandra (JB) Fullen of Charlotte, NC; Paula McGuire of Junction City, KS; and Barry (Jill) Beavers of Forest, OH. From these relationships she has been blessed with 14 wonderful grandchildren, Terri Dodrill, Ed Payne, Mark Beavers, JoAnna Huffman, Jeremy Beavers, Jonathan McGuire, Jamie Beavers, Bradley McGuire, Jordan Beavers, Trea Fullen, Casey Beavers, Caroline Fullen, Joel Beavers, and Matthew Fullen. She was also blessed with 26 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Lois was excited to know there is a great-great grandson expected in May 2021. Lois sadly had to say goodbye to her dad in 1963 and to her mom in 2001. Of her 10 siblings she leaves her youngest brother, Larry (Mary) Casteel of Lewisburg, TN and her younger sister, Margaret Kitts of Elkton, MD to cherish her memory. Over the years she has grieved the loss of the 8 others: Wanda Testerman, Thelma Winters, Virginia Asbury, Earl Casteel, Betty Smith, Auburn Casteel Jr, Jimmy Casteel and Maxine Blackwell.Lois was a wonderful and very loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, friend and so much more. She was not perfect but she was perfectly Lois – made in the image of God, knitted together in her mother’s womb, set apart for Christ. She will be missed beyond measure and her family and friends who are believers look forward to the day they will see her again.Friends may visit with the family at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV, Monday, January 11, 2021 from 11 a.m. until 12 noon.Due to COVID restrictions a private funeral service for family only will be conducted at 12 o'clock with Pastor Olen Butcher- Winfree officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home.
