Confidentiality of producers’ entries has been stressed throughout system design. Access to producers’ coal listings is restricted to the listing producer. Producers are identified only after consumers have specifically expressed interest in their coal.
Offers to sell coal are entered by producers and are immediately in the system, available for consumer query and purchase.
Access to the system by producers and consumers is password protected; however, there is no fee to signup, enter coals, or conduct queries.
Latitude is given buyers and sellers to complete negotiations and the transaction between themselves.
Solicitation bulletin board gives consumers a site to post active coal requirements and to receive producer’s responses.
